There are different types of camping tents according to their use and to the kind of people who will use it. These vary in style and quality. You can choose from many of its types. The three types of tents are: Cabin tents, Dome tents, and A-Frame tents.

Cabin tents are heavy and it usually weights 30-160 pounds. It is bulky but it is for heavy duty because it is made of durable materials. It is popular for group or family camping because it can accommodate many people and has extra spaces for huge stuffs like picnic tables. It is designed for car camping and will take hours just to set it up. The only complain about this is it is not easy to get dry when it is wet.

Dome tent is the most typical camping tent and it is very common in the market. It comes from various sizes and usually can accommodate two to four persons. It is easy to assemble and relocate. It is a dome shaped that can shed rain or even snow by the use of its rainfly.

A-Frame tent is the least recommended tent because of its features and characteristics. I can’t resist rains and other weather condition. It looks like a triangle shape or a letter A if it is already standing. I only have two walls. It is made of fabric so it has a tendency to be sagged. This type of tent is not suitable for two or more people because there will be a lack of space.

Tents can also be chosen by its style and usage. If it is summer, everyone can use summer camping tents because of its light weight and it provides good ventilation. Campers can also use hoop tents if they prefer to go in a hot are.

If a tent is going to be used by recreational campers, a 3 or 4 season tent will be much recommended. Three or four season tents usually have its feature for protection against rain and snow that comes in mesh panels that were zippered.

Peak height tents are approximately has a tall of 5 feet. It is easy to transport because it ranges only from 6-12 pounds. So you can carry it backpack or by car.

Convertible style of tents or convertible tents is transformable in different ways. You can remove its cover. You can zipper windows to get enough air or ventilation and you can remove a pole from it but still it stands.

If you are in a large group like family camping, you can use a family tent. This kind of tent is designed for large count of people that will use it. It is taller that the other tents. If you are looking for a tall and big tent, this tent is the best for you.

There are varieties of tents with their own usage. Just be careful when buying one of it because tents may costs so much. Choose a camping tent that has high durability, comfortable to stay with and a tent that values money.

Tents for camping are very important for any person who loves the outdoors, and knowing how to take care of them properly is the best way to maximize their use and make them last longer. Any kind of camping gear is usually used in different conditions, mild or extreme and these conditions can greatly affect its durability. The same thing goes for camping tents. This is why it is very important to know what steps could be taken to properly maintain them so that they can be used longer.

One thing that you may want to remember is to waterproof the tent. Never mind that the label says that it is waterproof. Disregard the note on its box that says the same thing. It is usually better to double your precautions, and using a seam sealer would be just the thing to make sure that the water stays outside the tent.

When going on a camping trip, it is very useful to bring extra parts that you might need in case tent repairs should be done. These would not take up a lot of space in your bag, and would ensure that any type of damage can be repaired as soon as possible. As with any other equipment, the smallest damage can get bigger a lot faster than you expect. A needle, some thread, duct tape and an extra zipper would do the trick.

As much as possible, avoid leaving the tent in direct sunlight for long periods of time. Too much sun can make your tent’s material brittle, making it more susceptible to tears and cuts.

Make sure the tent is properly ventilated to keep moisture from accumulating inside. Leave a flap or a window open just a wee bit so that the sir would circulate better and would keep condensation from inside the tent.

Always bring a proper ground cover so that you can keep the bottom of your tent from ripping. Remember that the ground during camping trips is often rough and can easily tear or cut your tent’s bottom. Covering the ground can prevent it from scraping across rocks and dirt.

Bring the proper stakes to use depending on the conditions. Different kinds of stakes are used for different kinds of ground, and make sure that the correct tension is applied on all stakes as well. This will lessen the chances of your tent ripping or getting damaged in case of string winds.

With these simple steps, you can make sure that your tents for camping will last longer.

There are different kinds of tents for camping, categorized depending on the scenario and use. It is of course best to have a specific type of tent for each specific kind of camping trip not only to make you feel more comfortable, but to help you face different weather and terrain conditions more efficiently as well.

A family or group tent is perfect for family outings that do not involve any extreme weather or terrain conditions. This should have the ability to fit more than four people comfortably, with weight not being a big concern. Normally, large dome tents and cabin tents are perfect for this purpose. Just remember that tents for this purpose are generally not that durable and should not be used for any other purpose that could involve more heavy duty camping.

Tents that are used for backpacking or canoe camping, unlike family or group tents, should be as lightweight as possible. The material should also be more durable and will be able to endure harsh weather. 3-season tents are great for canoeing and traveling through any kind of weather, although 4-season tents would be perfect if you are expecting extreme weather conditions during your trip.

General purpose camping tents are used for general camping, hiking, or other outdoor trips. 3-season tents would be adequate for these kinds of trips. They are relatively lightweight and can be used in general weather types. These tents cannot be used in extremely cold weather though, but would be just fine as long as it doesn’t snow.

Car camping tents are similar to family or group tents, but would be smaller. A smaller kind of dome tent would be just right for this purpose. Since car camping involves pitching your tent in an existing campground and does not really involve heavy terrain, these types of tents are also not as durable.

Extreme camping tents would be the most durable kind of tent, having the ability to withstand the roughest terrain and extreme winter conditions. These are also very lightweight considering the extreme weather and rough terrain that you will probably be hiking through. Their walls are also more vertical so that shedding snow would be a lot easier.

So before getting yourself a camping tent, make sure you have considered which kind of camping you will be using the tent for. Remember the different factors that should be considered such as weight, weather conditions, terrain, durability and number of people involved so that you can be properly protected and comfortable while using the tent. With these factors properly accounted for, it is going to be easier to know what kind of tent for camping you should be using.
